Tokyo

Tokyo is a city of contrasts and will always fascinate me. From super busy to very calm, from modern to retro futuristic to ancient, from traditional to contemporary, from familiar to very strange – this city has it all. It is hard to grasp the full  diversity of Tokyo, so far this is what I managed to capture.

After experiencing the first rush of Tokyo one longs for more tranquility and less visual influences. The Shinjuku neighborhood can offer that at parts. Once you walk through narrow streets with little traffic, lots of cafés, residential one family homes and little shops you could totally think you are in a different city.

And then, after sunset, Tokyo turns into a truly spectacular place. As a European you want to experience all that noise, shine, light, people. And the best spots for this are Shinjuku as well as Akihabara.
